ECFL Sets Priests Assembly
23 March 2006 - The Episcopal Commission on Family and Life (ECFL) has organized a Priests' Assembly for Arch-Diocesan Family and Life Directors/Ministers from Luzon on May 11-12, 2006 in Bahay Pari, San Carlos Formation Complex, Guadalupe, Makati City.
Foremost in the objectives of the gathering are: to foster fellowship among diocesan ministers/directors of Family and Life Ministry; assess the current situation of the Family and Life Ministry in the dioceses of Luzon and map out a plan of action to strengthen Family and Life Ministry in the region under the direction of ECFL.
According to the ECFL Office, the overnight assembly was designed to offer the priests a wholesome experience of bonding, learning and re-charging. There will be time for sharing and discussion in every session.
A review on the basic guidelines on the Diocesan Ministry on Family and Life and on Family Renewal Groups will also be presented. Reference will be taken from PCP II documents which are self-explanatory.
According to ECFL, it is preferred that priests themselves discuss the guidelines and discern what course of action to take.
Bonding and fellowship among diocesan ministers, a common mind-set on the Family and Life Ministry and a Plan of Action for the dioceses of Luzon are the expected outcome of the said assembly.
The ECFL look forward to meeting of all appointed Priests Directors/Ministers who will be more effective in soliciting the future participation of other priests for the ministry.
