Help solve extrajudicial killing, Lagdameo appeals
MANILA, July 5, 2007—CBCP President and Jaro (Iloilo) Archbishop Angel N. Lagdameo said everyone has a role to play in order to end extrajudicial killings in the country.
Speaking before Church beat reporters at the launching of CBCP News late Thursday afternoon, Archbishop Lagdameo said “we should identify the causes and circumstances behind these extrajudicial killings.”
He added “we will not be able to pinpoint those responsible without the cooperation of everyone.”
He further said “we cannot simply pass judgment on people.” He appealed to concerned citizens to help, “come out in the open, and give relevant information” that will help solve the recent spate of killings. (Melo Acuña)
