Laguna priests to celebrate Priests Day

 
SAN PABLO CITY, July 30, 2009—More than a hundred of priests, religious, deacons led by His Excellency Most Rev. Leo M. Drona, SDB, DD will be holding a huge celebration of the Priests Day in this city on August 4 as part of the diocesan participation of the year-long worldwide celebration of the Year of Priests.
 
The Diocesan Catholic School System (DCSS) of the Diocese of San Pablo will be hosting the big event that will take place at the Liceo de San Pablo Gymnasium on the said date which coincides with the 150th Death Anniversary of St. John Marie Vianney, the Patron Saint of Parish Priests.
 
The celebration starts with the Concelebrated Mass at 9:00 am at the San Pablo Cathedral to be presided by Bishop Drona together with the priest-concelebrants with participations from nuns, religious, faculty, students, lay people, friends in the diocese.
 
The Festivities in honor of the priests will follow at the Liceo de San Pablo Gym where various presentations and numbers from students, teachers will take place.
 
According to the program obtained by CBCPNews, the Bishop is expected to deliver his message to all the priests, religious in relation to the occasion.

Short remarks would also be given by Msgr. Melchor Barcenas, as host parish priest; Fr. Teodulfo B. Baria, Jr, the DCSS Director and Sr. Ma. Julieta C. Colesio, MCST, the Supervisor on Religion.


The giving of gifts to all the priests present will serve as the culminating part of the day-long Priest Day Event.
